A must-visit for dapper men, Charvet—France's finest custom shirtmaker—has been in business for over 150 years.
Said to be the world's first ever shirt shop, Charvet was founded in 1838.
The store sells ties, pocket squares, underwear, and pajamas as well, plus women's shirts, all custom-tailored or straight off the peg.
Elegant men have worn Charvet. The five-storey emporium dedicates one floor to shirting and boasts more than 300 shades of white. Charvet was first to make knotted-silk cufflinks, now copied around the world. Made-to-measure shirts are from €415 each, with attentive, efficient service and lots of advice. The most luxurious item is a silk dressing gown at €1500; the smallest luxury is a pair of boxers for €90.
