After purchasing the tickets (not included) this tour allows you to skip the long entrance lines on arrival, and travel deep under the streets of Paris. An English-speaking guide will lead you around more than a kilometer of tunnels, and explain their macabre history. Learn why the former limestone quarries - mined to build some of the city’s most famous bridges and buildings - came to be used as the final resting place for so many Parisians.

Your guide will tell you how millions of bodies were exhumed from the city’s overcrowded cemeteries by the late 1700s, and stacked one on top of the other in the chambers of the Catacombs. Marvel at walls lined with human bones, many arranged in almost artistic compositions.
