Paris was a busy place in the 19th century, and the public wanted to know everything that was going on. Journalist Arthur Meyer (1844-1917) came up with the idea of creating life-size, three-dimensional models of the people who made the headlines in the famous daily paper "Le Gaulois". Meyer's idea was simple: to create a place where the public could walk through a setting peopled with wax figures. It was an instant success!

The Grevin's free discovery tour reveals the well-kept secrets of making wax celebrities! After meeting Lorie, Mimie Mathy, Louis XIV or Jean de La Fontaine, children can have fun finding out how all those wax figures are made.
