Day Trip to Giverny with Private Driver and Guide
Take a 6-hour tour to Giverny, former home of Impressionist master Claude Monet, with a private guide and transportation from Paris. Walk through Monet's house and gardens, where you can see where he lived and worked on some of his most famous paintings, particularly the water lilies series. You'll also have lunch (own expense) at Café Baudy, where American painters stayed in the early 20th century to meet Monet. Select the number of people in your party when booking.
Your private driver and guide picks you up at your accommodation in central Paris to begin your tour to Giverny, a village in Normandy. During the roughly 1-hour drive, your guide tells you about this beautiful region of France located northwest of Paris.
When you arrive at Claude Monet's house and gardens, follow your guide inside the house with your skip-the-line ticket, and learn about Monet's life here with his second wife, Alice, and their children. Then head outside to the gardens, which feature a multitude of flowers, as well as the famous water lily pond and Japanese bridge that Monet painted so many times.
Afterward, head to a local restaurant, Café Baudy, for a lunch of typical cuisine (own expense). On the way back to Paris, stop in La Roche-Guyon, a charming village known for its medieval castle built into a hill overlooking the Seine River Valley.
